Meals & Snacks
I participate in the childcare food program. Children are not forced to eat but are encouraged to try what is on their plate. Bottles brought from home must be labeled with your child’s name. Meals and snacks are usually served at the times listed below. Please feed your child before you come to my home if he or she misses a meal time. No outside food unless prearranged. If your child is on a special diet or has food restrictions please bring food for your child as I follow a daily menu.
Breakfast: 7:45-8:45 a.m.
Morning snack: 10 a.m.
Lunch: 11:30-12 p.m.
Afternoon snack: 3/3:30 p.m.
Clothing
Please dress your child appropriately for the weather and leave 2 complete change of clothing (up to age 5) at my home, as well as seasonal out wear (swim suit, snow pants, etc.)Please label the clothing and any other items brought from home.
Sleeping & Rest Arrangements
All children are required to nap or have quiet time. Each child has his/ her own bed linens. The older children rest on mats/blankets and infants and toddlers nap in a playpen equip with a tight fitting sheet. Every infant (under 1) in care will be placed to sleep on his/her back with nothing in the crib except a pacifier if needed. No blankets or other items are allowed in the infant sleep space. Your child who is 12 months or older is welcome to bring his/ her favorite blanket or stuffed animal for nap time.
Non-Discrimination
I do not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, national origin, religion, sex, or disability.
Illness
In an attempt to contain the spread of illnesses, I will not provide day care for a child with any of the following symptoms:
A temperature of 100° or above (fever cannot be treated by use of medication. Must be under 100° medication free)
Vomiting within the last 24 hours
Diarrhea with in the last 24 hour
Pink eye
Strep throat (must be on medication for 24 hours before returning to care)
Head lice (no child allowed to return to daycare until ALL nits are gone) I will do a weekly check for each child.
Other contagious illnesses, the provider deems appropriate.
If your child has any of the symptoms or illnesses, please contact me but do not bring them to day care.
If your child develops any of the symptoms during the day I will call you and expect you to pick up the child as soon as possible. This is to prevent exposing the other children and myself to the illness.
Immunization records must be updated as shots are administered. You may provide me with the print out from the clinic. I do not take children who are unvaccinated.
You must notify me immediately if your child has been diagnosed with a contagious illness or parasitic infestation. I will notify you if your child has been exposed to any illnesses.
If there is any illness in my family, you will be notified and can bring your child upon your own discretion. If I am unable to care for your child I will notify you as soon as possible.
I must have your permission to obtain emergency medical care treatment. This will only be used if I cannot reach you or if you are delayed in arriving at emergency facility. I’ll make every effort to call you. It will be your responsibility to pay for any fees that may occur.
I must have your written permission to administer prescription and nonprescription medications.
Fire & Storm Drills
I am required to hold monthly fire and storm drills.
Transportation
I am certified to transport children, and have/get the proper car seat for each child that I will transport at any given time. I will give you notice when we will be going on outings that require me to drive your child.
Trial Period
There will be a two-week trial. Beginning on the child’s first day of care. Either party may terminate this contract within the trial period without further obligation.
Termination Procedure
Termination of care may be done by either the parent(s)/ guardian(s) or the provider by giving a two week written notice in advance of the ending date. Payment by the parent/guardian is due for the notice period whether or not the child is brought to care.
The provider may terminate the contract without giving any notice if the parent/guardian fails to comply with the contract terms including but not limited to timely payment of fees. The provider may also terminate the contract in case of an emergency.
Failure by the provider to enforce one or more terms of the contract does not waive the right of the provider to enforce any other terms of the contract.
Substitute Provider
In the event of an emergency, it may be necessary to use a substitute provider. A criminal background check is completed by all substitutes. All substitutes have completed the required training. I will attempt to give advanced notice if there will be a substitute provider but cannot guarantee it will depend on circumstances.
You are responsible to have back up provider care in case I am ill or use vacation time.
Pets
We do not have any pets in the daycare home.
No smoking policy
We are a non-smoking home. Friends/family smoke outside. Licensing regulations prohibit smoking in the daycare home during daycare hours.
Insurance
I carry liability insurance on my daycare business.
Discipline
The licensing rule prohibits any form of corporal punishment (spanking, hitting, slapping, tapping hands, etc). If necessary I will redirect the child’s behavior or use a timeout of no more than one minute per year of age.
Visitation
Parents are welcome to drop in and visit the daycare. However please be considerate of nap-time.
You are welcome to call anytime. If I am too busy to answer the phone please leave a message and I will return your call as soon as possible.
Personal items/toys
You are welcome to bring toys from home if your child is willing to share. I will not be responsible for anything that is lost or broken. I will incorporate a fun Friday once a month where we will have a movie, pajama or some kind of fun day.
Drop off and pick up times
Please drop off and pick up your child at the agreed-upon time so that I may meet other obligations. The agreed-upon time may be altered with prior approval. If you’re running late please let me know. You will be charge overtime rate as stated in the contract.
Scheduling
Our childcare agreement is based on your child being here at the times and dates agreed-upon. If your schedule changes please notify me as soon as possible. If I cannot accommodate the changes I reserve the right to terminate this agreement.
Substance-abuse policy
I prohibit employees, helpers, substitutes and volunteers when directly responsible for caring for the children from abusing prescription medication or be in any manner under the influence of chemical or alcohol to the extent that the use or abuse has or may have a negative effect on the ability of the person to give care is apparent during daycare hours. I will train employees, helpers, substitutes, and volunteers about this substance abuse policy.

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the services provided please discuss it with me.
